Aloha ʻĀina Gift (ʻAʻaliʻi)

Aloha ʻĀina Gift (ʻAʻaliʻi)

$120.00Price

ʻAʻaliʻi is a native, indigenous tree or shrub that can grow up to 30 ft. The durable wood was used to make house posts, canoes, and spears. The fruit can be boiled to make a red kapa dye, and the flowers continue to be used to create beautiful lei. Medicinally, ‘a‘ali‘i leaves were mixed with other plants to treat skin rashes (‘ohune or mane‘o).

This native is drought, salt, and wind-resistant and highly adaptable.

Give the gift of aloha to the land that gives us so much!

When you sponsor a tree, you will receive a digital certificate with the GPS location of your tree, along with an open invitation to visit it.

This gift will support our mission to protect and preserve Hawaiʻi's fragile ecosystems.

To show our appreciation, we will plant one native Hawaiian plant for each tree gifted in Pia Valley, Oʻahu, a 330-acre nature preserve we have the honor and kuleana of stewarding.
